How is PEMF Beneficial for Small Animals?

PEMF is used to treat a wide range of conditions affecting canine athletes as well as other small animals and family pets. Basic treatment protocols are provided with each of our PEMF systems but you will find that your therapist will customize treatments based on factors such as:

  • Age of the animal
  • Fitness/Health Level including other conditions, medications, stress level and more
  • Age of Injury
  • Daily Routine
  • External factors including travel, competition, and stressors
PEMF Therapy for animals can be used either as a preventative to injury, especially for canine athletes and working dogs, or to treat specific conditions in any family pet or small animal, such as:
  • Decreased mobility
  • Hip dysplasia
  • Muscle atrophy and stiffness
  • Ligament injuries
  • sprains, strains or tendonitis
  • Fresh and delayed union bone fractures
  • Degenerative Joint Disease
  • Tendon issues
  • Arthritic conditions
  • Abscesses or wounds
  • Immune system disorders
  • Behavior and emotional disorders

The Treatment Process

Our world class PEMF system is the iMRS 2000 Professional by Swiss Bionic Solutions.  The PEMF unit consists of a massage table size mat, a pillow and a wand or probe that is used to pinpoint smaller areas and is perfect for small animals.

The iMRS whole body mat applicator is used to enhance circulatory effects and oxygen delivery, for improving energy, stamina and sleep, and for overall wellness. The animal simply stands, sits or lies on the mat to receive the PEMF treatment.  Most animals fall into a very relaxed state and many drift off into a deep healing sleep during treatment.

The smaller pillow applicator can be used on any area of the body.  It is commonly used to release muscle tension and reduce muscle soreness after strenuous exercise or injury, and to support the lungs, pancreas, kidneys, liver, digestive tract and lower abdominal organs. The pillow applicator can also be used to assist in the relief of pain and discomfort.

The probe applicator is useful for concentrating a more intense energy wave to smaller areas of the body; for example, trigger points, specific regions of joints, the sinuses, and the TMJ (jaw joint).

Depending on your unique concerns, we will use one or all three of the PEMF applicators.

PEMF treatments are simple, safe, fast and affordable. We highly recommend that this technology is used immediately after acute injury for a period of up to one week, and more regularly for chronic conditions.  It is important to recognize that PEMF therapy is an excellent tool as a prevention to illness or injury.

Additional therapies can also be combined with PEMF therapy to achieve accelerated results.  We offer Photonic Therapy, Acupressure, Massage, Reiki and CranioSacral Therapy.  Any of these modalities blend perfectly with PEMF!
